yaaaaay I've been mostly away this last week because I was at AGDQ 2026



I'm so lucky it happens to be in my town, and I hope it continues to be! It's so much more fun in person. I really want to make more friends and go to more! The vibes are so good. I always try to watch it streaming but it usually doesn't keep my attention for long. I just do much better in person.

Next time I'd like to take the week off and not make any other commitments so I can just camp out there all week. I pulled two all nighters there.

My highlights are:

Soul Reaver All Bosses: the runner had a great sense of humor.
Resident Evil 2 Remake with a Rock Band Guitar: Just from watching the gameplay it didn't even look different
Majora's Mask blindfolded
70 Star Relay Mario 64: This was just a delight since they got people of all skill levels involved
Wind Waker: Teehee for a bonus they modded the game and took a picture of the crowd and it put it in the game. I got to point like LOOK THAT'S ME

It was a great variety! It makes me want to try a speed run but I know that's the ADHD talking. I can't even handle shiny hunting lol.

From your pics and posts it looked like you were having an awesome time!

I imagine that it's really one of those things that being present for really gives you a feel for the actual energy. Watching it and being in the stream/online community is great, but actually getting to see the people doing what they love to do live would be such an amazing experience.

It looks awesome, I'm so glad that you got to attend! I've watched those streams before and I bet it's even more entertaining in person. I didn't even know where they were taking place, to be honest when I watch something online it always seems like it's just occurring off in the aether somewhere.

Now you know what to expect when they do it next year.

awh well it seems they're going to have AGDQ in Atlanta next year rip. Which is too bad because I think it meshes well with the culture here. ; ; The energy truly was so amazing. Even if it's not local again I gooootta attend again. They DO have an artist alley area now which I'll more earnestly try to get into. I looked at it for this show, but just wanted to attend and enjoy it. I've been a little burnt out so I think that was the right choice. ></

I'm still so zonked though because I did two nights staying up until 6am and then had a work thing I had to get up at 6am for a few days later lol.

It WAS cool to see how they organize it all. The streaming related stuff was all in one big room which I didn't expect! They had two gaming setups on the stage that they switched between right next to each other with curtains in between, and a closed off area for the side shows. I assumed it was all in different rooms.

There was tons of misc entertainment though. Practice room, arcade, rhythm game arcade. Oh man and I missed all the panels. I'm sure they were great.
