(also if you haven't seen this design, well, this is a new design for my character Happy Buster! they're a punk-rock powered robot with a ton of personal problems and mental health issues)
hey don't cry, happy buster, okay?

Was trying out a new brush so of course I threw my favorite lil guy at it and it feels REAL good! I like how chunky it feels, kinda like a brush pen.

I!!!! ADORE!!! HAPPY BUSTER WITH MY WHOLE HEART!!!! This looks great. As always I looooove the energy in your art and this is no exception.
The way you rendered it works really well too. Just a touch, but not too much. I still have the stickers of them in my sketchbook being precious with it, I need to put them ON something so I can look at it all the tiiimmmmeeeee!!
Re: hey don't cry, happy buster, okay?
thank you!!!
yeah i did mess around with more rendering layers but no this was absolutely just the right amount; just enough to imply bounce light but not overworking it.
having a character as gestural and toyetic as HB goes a long way towards stopping me from overdoing a piece.

Too many cameos to list in this one.
I genuinely love doing big group pics like this so it felt real cathartic to just do one again.

DAMN this is such an impressive illustration. There's so many little details, and once again the rendering is JUST enough. It feels like such a natural real environment. You're really good at it.
I'm just SLORPING this uuuuuppp!!! It's really inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
lmao I just noticed the person peeking through the door and almost gave me a jump

yeah i have a softspot for just big complex scenes with a lot of characters in it; they take so much time and effort to do but i love the challenge it provides, and when i get in the rhythm of things then i stop being "oh this is so hard to compose" and start being "oh i can stuff some tiny little stories into this!"

Ohhh, your art so colorful and expressive, I love it! That group picture is amazing, I'm looking respectfully at the big robot in the center and a cute guy in yellow in the background. 6w6 ♥♥♥
(Tho they all look pretty awesome!)

yeah the guy in yellow was actually designed by a friend of mine! I super loved the design and wanted to show it off.
